One of the things in this space that I have heard much complaint about -- and no support for -- is the pool ranking on #Daedalus. It's great to give information - which this, pooltool.io & others do --but not, picking winners & losers.
I can give an unofficial one, they do not plan on changing it in the near future and the scientists within IOG do not think it is a pressing issue. They believe #Cardano is very decentralised comparing to major projects and more research in the game theory need to be done.
THREAD: a0 parameter is broken. Pledge is supposed to limit the number of pools, it doesn't. We pledge 1 million $ADA per pool to protect against sybil attacks without benefit.
It will take multiple years to make the $ADA that we pledge back. We have low leverage.
IOG is actively limiting CIPs that will help smaller pools, pledge change, 340 cost removal, ect.
Cardano is centralized through project catalyst. We can't change anything.
If we want to solve this problem we need a protocol incentive change, and IOG is the only one who can.
On behalf of the SPO community can we please request an update regarding the latest thinking behind any changes behind the a0 and k parameters?

We would like to share with you positive information on decentralisation of Cardano but it is NOT positive, things are getting worse. Today we ingested last 35 epochs of Wealth Distribution and we provide see MAV (Minimum Attack Vector) going down.
Data doesn't lie.
Down to 175 (from 178) pools that control 50% of the stake... #cardano is getting more and more centralized every epoch that passes.
hosting_a_stake_pool_is_for_wealthy_or_crypto
sSPOs should increase the pressure on IOG to increase k to 1500 and remove the fixed fee completely.
Saturation decreases to 22.66mio.
Pledge matters three times as much.
The rankings'd actually work as intended w/o fixed fee.
It's all IOG being slow on those changes.
