can you sum it up what is the reason we are giving SPOs voting right next to a committee/ DReps?

I assume not all SPOs wants to participate in voting, and if they want to they can become a DRep or be part of the committee.

Hey Pi, thanks for your commitment as a Dev and keeping your composure in complicated discussions, it says a lot about you. It's not easy, so really, thank you. Congratulations on the IO invitation, I'm sure you will do an excellent job. 👍

It would have been great to meet in person, but for family and personal reasons I am not able to attend *this time*. Help me push a Tau-prime parameter, a Treasury payout rate limit complement to Tau, the Treasury fill rate parameter. @amw7

I wasn't invited 😢

all meetings should be transcribed and minuted for total transparency.. after all, there is EAST and WEST communities here

In light of the infancy of our Voltaire discussions, I'm excited that @InputOutputHK has invited me to a workshop on CIP-1694 next week. I'll join many of my brilliant peers in Colorado to give CIP-1694 it's first "pressure washing", probing it as a group from all angles.

If you haven't read the draft yet, I highly encourage you to do so; it's been available for public comment for quite a while. You can find it here: github.com/JaredCorduan/C…

Are there plans for some of these work shop to be recorded and posted? Would be cool to see some of the input on this process.

Wish they would do these things in places where it's easier to get a travel visa. Especially people from poor countries are disproportionally affected (albeit TBF, Europe in general isn't a whole lot better either).

This is the first one I've heard of being held in the US; other meetups I know about were in London, Barcelona, Edinburgh, etc.

I'd imagine it's just as hard to organize the other way; they have to transport a lot of IOG employees to the location, who would also need Visas, etc.

Does the cip considers "proof of commitment" where only ADA stored in a wallet for a certain period of time (for example 3-6mo) prior to voting gets counted? These can be called committed ADA & this mech prevents actors fr borrowing large sum to vote and returning the ada later.

It could be something else. Is CIP-1694 the only thing going on?

I'm looking forward to meeting for the #Cardano CIP-1694 workshop next week. Lots of good stuff in there. Some areas need more meat on the bones. I'm coming with an open mind and a heavily-marked up copy of the current CIP.

Just note this is not some secretive insider thing. It's really just to kickstart the process. The cip is already open for comments on github.

It doesn't matter. By the time a CIP is written, voted on, and engineering resources exist to put it into layer 1, it will be moot. There will be several excellent layer 2 solutions that elegantly solve the problem.

I'm also attending the workshop next week and am extremely honored to be invited. I've been wanting to start this discussion for a long time as I have a few key items I'd like to see merged in.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's ideas!

IOHK will be providing minutes and a report of the event. I was told it will not be recorded in order to make sure all the participants feel free to share freely in the moment.

Who got invited / who are the intended participants?

My understanding is that this is to give IOHK Engineers a chance to chat with community builders. As participants, we are supposed to bring ideas from the workshop back to the community and kickstart the 1694 discussion.
