If you read my newsletter last week, then you saw I wrote about the concept of body doubling -- working quietly alongside someone else in order to gain focus on your own tasks. It's becoming more and more common in ADHD communities and can also be beneficial to folks who aren't neurodivergent.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, a number of startups have sprung up to create virtual spaces that create the same feeling of presence for individuals who struggle with accomplishing tasks in isolation. I've been using Flow Club and I've found it to be a great service.

I've been using it so much, in fact, that I'm now able to host my own "flows" as they're called. My first session is tomorrow at 3p MT and you are welcome to work alongside me for the hour.

Anyone can sign up and get two weeks free. If you use my special invite code (https://lnkd.in/gftme-nc), you'll get a full month for the high cost of zero dollars. And they don't engage in the bullshit dark pattern of making you enter your credit card during the trial period. Heck yes, good people!

The main drawback I've experienced after working remotely for 7 years (!) -- unless I am intentional about community, I can go days without speaking out loud to someone who isn't my husband. My husband's cool and all, but so are other people.

There are many ways to mitigate remote work isolation. Flow Club is a good one.

If you want to power through your to do list with me next week, check the comments for a link to skip ye olde wait list 😎

250 Hours Spend Co-Working Virtually!?! Yes, I can add that to my latest accomplishments. πŸ˜€ Consulting brings many joys, but the #1 thing I miss is working with others throughout the day. I was happy to discover Flow Club many months ago. Not only have I virtually co-worked with others around the world (Molly R., Ricky Yean, Angela Hoover, Micha Goebig, Joshua Berrios, Irene Yu to name a few), but I've found support and new friends working in many different industries. I became so hooked on this productivity and accountability hack that I became a Flow Club host, where you can now find me kickstarting Flow Club sessions each week. Interested in joining me? Send me a DM. #accountability #productivity #start-up

Last year I was able to clock 166 deep-work-flow sessions with Flow Club.

Using Flow Club in combination with Rize (rize.io) helped me increase my productivity.

In the whole process, I ended up making a lot of new connections as well.

Super-grateful to Ricky Yean and the team at Flow Club for creating such a platform.

Getting my ADHD squirrel brain to stay on track, do what's on my list or even deep work is often a challenge.
I'm ever so grateful for the structure Flow Club gives me – and for the amazing people I've coworked with recently, including Amber, Galia, Rebecca, CEO Ricky Yean, Julie Alexander, Irene Yu, Joshua Berrios, @rebecca Rachel Fetrow, Saloni Mundhra, Claudiu Ciungan and many more.

Flow Club is my #1 productivity hack.

It's the one thing that's made a remote work culture possible for me.

(other than tea + cookies)

Thank you Ricky Yean and Haley Bryant for making my Flow Club experience so amazing ☺️

The power of FOCUS is unparalleled.

I'm back in @flowdotclub and have had my most productive week in awhile.

There's a magic to co-working that being alone in my home office just can't compete with.

While working with @jayyeh at FWC, preparing for our fundraise @vauntmarket , @flowdotclub has been a lifesaver! If you're struggling with your to-do list, give it a try for some extra accountability.

Thanks again to @flowdotclub for helping me focus and get stuff done! πŸŽ‰

I know it's going to be a productive day when I get to book @MichaGoBig's morning @flowdotclub.

Have you ever tried remote coworking? It's super helpful for focus and getting into the flow (great for #ADHD like me). I host sessions on @flowdotclub and one is starting in a little under an hour if anyone would like to join me! More info πŸ‘‡

Sometimes heads down with no thinking and just doing is the secret formula. @flowdotclub just enabled me to wrap up a tough day with a win!

sitting in a @flowdotclub session with my fellow virtual coworkers. My latest random hobby is self-narrating my life with the help of AI art generators. Here's the result of the prompt I put in for my flow club session - pretty cool (and strange, no doubt) how it turned out.

Few things more fun in the professional world than meeting longtime online friends IRL.

Had a great time grabbing lunch today w/ @flowdotclub founder @rickyyean

New discovery: @flowdotclub 🌊
Virtual co-working sessions to get into flow, get stuff done and be held accountable. May or may not be in one right now but was too excited to not share.

Just hosted my first @flowdotclub sesh. Between getting into flow and the random act of kindness in hosting, they should really study effects on founder mental health. Clear positive psych intervention components.

Big shoutout to @flowdotclub - the accountability has been huge for me in getting stuff done just in the first week of 2023.

Encourage everyone to try it to help w deep work and efficiency.

Was so deeply in flow during @flowdotclub that when I looked up, it was all over and everyone had left so apologies to @rickyyean if there was a Bueller/(Santos) moment!!

Thanks @flowdotclub for 181 hours of focused productivity last year. Looking forward to doing it again in 2023!

2023, let's go.πŸ’ͺThis is how big a part @flowdotclub was a part of my 2022. Come do it again with me in 2023

One of the things that made a massive difference in my life this year was @flowdotclub. I discovered that body doubling combined with friendly accountability was the key to managing my #ADHD. #FlowClub

Thanks for a super productive 2022! Made lots of progress and moved the ball forward, one session at a time.
