Before I could start collecting Product Marketing Alliance (PMA) certifications like Pokémon, I had a chance to attend their Denver Product Marketing Summit with the Pax8 PMM team.
I took about 50 pages worth of notes, and got more information about AI tools and strategies than I ever knew existed. (Seriously, so much AI talk!)
The speakers were phenomenal, sharing insights that ranged from familiar to mind-blowing, and I noticed a few recurring themes throughout that I think are crucial to remember as a PMM:
🔹 Good storytelling is at the heart of everything we do. Because who doesn't love a good story, right?
🔹 Always collect customer feedback to stay in tune with our audience. It's like having a never-ending conversation with your best friend.
🔹 Be open-minded to new ideas and embracing innovation. Because sometimes, the best ideas come from the most unexpected places.
🔹 Leverage AI to enhance your strategies and outcomes. The idea of having an AI twin is both intriguing and frightening.
🔹 Lead with empathy in all our PMM endeavors. Because at the end of the day, we're all just humans trying to make a difference.
A huge thank you to Pax8 for supporting our team and enabling us to continue learning and growing to better support our company. And a big shoutout to PMA for putting on such a splendid summit! -
EN: I had the honor of being in New York for the Product Marketing Summit hosted by the Product Marketing Alliance.
And I’m thrilled to share that on August 6th, we’ll be hosting a Summit in São Paulo, and I’ll be there as a speaker! ❤️
In Brazil, we still lack dedicated Product Marketing events where we can grow, exchange ideas, and network as a community.
If the New York summit was incredible, just imagine what’s coming in São Paulo!
I’m super excited and hope to see you all there!

A definite 'pinch me' moment was speaking at the Product Marketing Alliance Summit last month.
I enjoy presenting, but a year ago I would have only dreamed of speaking in front of a couple hundred intelligent and inspiring people in my own profession!
I was fortunate to attend my first PMA Summit in New York last March. It sparked an idea I couldn't shake, and four months later I emailed the organizer the day I finished work for a summer sabbatical. Luckily for me, they accepted my session submission and the rest is history.
I loved the whole experience (one I hope to repeat this year) and it was a privilege to share the stage with Product Marketing's finest. Two takeaways:
1. Attend conferences. You meet really cool people and get dangerously inspired! 💡
2. Feel the fear and do it anyway. What's the worst that could happen?! 💪 -
Spent last week with a host of smart, talented product people at Product Marketing Alliance NY and three weird things happened.
The very first person I met might be my sister and/or alternate dimension alter ego. Allie Wilson - loved your talk about capturing attention. Need to schedule that joint tattoo appt soon.
I wasn't surrounded by keyboard clacking in every session. Did y'all know you can attend large speaking events and have people ~gasp~ fully engage?! Kudos Calum Harris for the great programming.
I learned a new language. PMMs & CMOs aren't always using the same dictionary. Came back with a whole new set of vocab that hopefully helps us play a more unifying role with brands. Thanks to Paula Griffin Erin Dorshorst Hannah Connolly Sackett Jeffrey Hanrahan Lauren Nolan Claudia Masseo and more for the helpful dialogue.
Good week, great company, even better running weather. -
PMM Summit in Austin was jam-packed with insights, strategies, and innovative ideas. I can’t recap the whole day, but here’s some highlights!
🔥 AI in Product Marketing:
Scott Baker from IBM delivered a powerful message on how to thoughtfully integrate AI into our work.
His advice? Don’t be afraid to set a date to flush the training data and retrain your AI tools.
Data-Driven Storytelling:
Chris Apaliski from JPMorgan Payments laid out a masterclass on transforming numbers into narratives.
The bottom line: Context > Content.
❤️ Empathy as a Superpower:
Candace Collins reminded us that empathy elevates every part of our work.
Her tip? Imagine your persona is a close friend or family member.
🚀 Thought Leadership in B2B Marketing:
Priyanka Tiwari from AWS nailed what it takes to lead with thought leadership content.
Jayson Gehri from Delinea emphasized the importance of aligning product, sales, and marketing.
His advice? Use forrester and interview your customers!
Final Thoughts: Today reminded us that product marketing is equal parts art and science. What a great event. -
Had a great time at the Product Marketing Summit in Paris yesterday!
The day was full of insightful sessions and thoughtful conversations. From go-to-market strategies and cross-functional collaboration to customer-focused messaging, there were plenty of practical takeaways I’m excited to apply.
Some highlights:
📢 Clearly define tiers of release types with product and sales, along with agreeing on which assets are needed for each tier. Not everything should be treated or promoted in the same way.
💌 GTC and GTM can and often should come separately.
🤗 Great discussions with other product marketing professionals including, but not limited to, Mariia Zamrii, Sarah Jane Murphy, Rahul Dabke🗼MBA, MS, & Annick Ourdi! Always inspiring to share experiences and ideas.
Thank you to everyone who made the event so impactful, and to the Product Marketing Alliance for bringing the product marketing community together in such a great way!
