1 week ago I actually thought @girdley was a troll account because he seemed too nerdy to be real. But now I am 1 week in on @acquanon and I’m 43 episodes deep. Let’s pray this girdleymonster doesn’t continue to grow and consume us all

I’ve listened to most episodes while emptying my dishwasher. It helps develop critical thinking, to notice the nuance in rosy numbers.

You’ve shared countless little quirks and red flags, that are like mental vaccines, inoculating against deception.

    My favorite business podcast!

Girdley, Mills, and Bill do an excellent job breaking down the key elements to look for in acquiring a small business by bringing their years of invaluable wisdom garnered through actually acquiring and running their own businesses all with the perfect amount of wit and humor.

If you own or run a company this is a great podcast. Bite sized evaluations of businesses for sale. I usually learn something and if nothing else you get a sense of the market and how to consider valuation. But most importantly I always get a few laughs.

Why is it so important to understand working capital in SMB acquisitions?

Spoiler alert: SMB buyer horror story at the end. 😱

On the podcast, @acquanon , we often talk about listings that show a price that *excludes* inventory or equipment, etc. With the exception of…

Interesting discussion on Carve Outs. I was comparing those to Spin Offs, as I have invested in several stocks spun-off by a parent company. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/acq…

Heather is probably the smartest person in the country (world?) when it comes to SBA loans.

    And she has office hours!

Or you can listen to her twice a week with us on @acquanon for 100% free.

Good thread. I would also add one, as someone who has signed NDAs and gone deep on a few businesses covered by @acquanon: check your assumptions and dig into the details. Sometimes something looks ugly at first but is actually a goldmine.

I've recorded over 250 episodes of @acquanon with him over the last two years - that's hours and hours of talk about buying businesses.

Michael always brings wonderful insights, and he's a great teacher.
