I had the joy to emcee the hashtag#PMAChicago Summit. The energy was electric as we dove deep into today's top product marketing challenges and opportunities.π‘
The bar for hashtag#productmarketing is rising. We need to tell the right story, backed by data and targeted with precision. We must understand our customer's challenges and translate insights into business impact. We have an imperative to tell a clear, differentiated message and build cross-functional influence while we're at it. β¨
New technologies like hashtag#generativeAI present new opportunities. They can enrich our fundamental role as storytellers. They can make our narratives more compelling, more targeted, more impactful. Not to mention, they can make our daily work a whole lot easier. π
Thank you, Martha Harris and Product Marketing Alliance, for another great Summit! And to our speakers -- Thank you for sharing your wisdom, experiences, and lessons learned with the community. It was equally wonderful to meet many other product marketers absolutely knocking the craft out of the park. π
This product marketer is going home with a full cup. π -

Thank you to Martha Harris and the Product Marketing Alliance for providing me the honor of speaking at the PMA Summit in Chicago last week. The sessions were fabulous and meeting my co-worker Marienis Pelayo in person was great.
Product marketing looks different in every company so there was a wide range of topics addressing everything that product marketing impacts.
So here are my biggest takeaways from the event, and they don't just apply to product marketing:
π€ Use AI to enhance your output: AI is everywhere, but it's not a replacement for humans. Keep your target audience in mind and your overall goals.
π¨πΌβπ» Ensure content is buyer-centric: Buyers are overwhelmed with all the information available and they don't know who to trust. The more you speak to them in their language about their problems, the easier you earn trust.
π£ Make sure your story is retellable: The decision-making process happens without you in the room so you need to feel confident your champion can sell internally to their team.
π¦Έπ»ββοΈ Ignorance is your superpower: Always ask why and keep asking why so you can convey to your clients that doing nothing is more risky than purchasing your product.
π«±π»βπ«²πΌ Be besties with sales and product teams: Start speaking their language, set up recurring meetings, communicate what you're improving, and celebrate your peers.
