As a lover of both Bitcoin and Cardano, this makes me sad.
Click through for discussion. Post is a photo of a page of a book published last year discussing Kal Kassa's opinions of Cardano as a "scheme" and a "threat"
Here is @KalKassa expressing an Ethiopian perspective on what’s happening w/Cardano over there.
Take it w/a grain of salt. I just want to make opposing views known, since all we see is the “good news”.
🇪🇹 What's the issue with Cardano? youtu.be/0YHvtrasAgw via @YouTube
I’m not there on the ground so, I defer to those who are.
If the ADA community or Ethiopian govt has something to refute, I’d gladly consider it, too.
But as it stands, there’s much to be desired. I’d like to hear their arguments on how this is NOT a proto-social credit system
It’s ashamed that Cardano has not fulfilled what they have promised to Ethiopia 🇪🇹. Time can only tell….
I still hope that Cardano will deliver one day. We know that it’s a long term process.
Here is a particularly gross clip of Charles Hoskinson explaining how his Cardano #ADA blockchain will follow Ethiopians from birth, constantly tracking & adding personal data to a permanent social credit score so that he can play God over their futures.
Real slaveowner vibes
Lol Cardano ppl REALLY don't want someone to dig in. They really don't.
Reaper meme gonna need a longer hallway.
@KalKassa please tag all the people who've done the work on @IOHK_Charles and ada, and post good article / video URLs in the comments
Be honest, @jjtoconnor and I have both responded to you in Telegram, Reddit and Twitter.
👉 Most recently here reddit.com/r/cardano/comm…
👉 And here's a recent video update
People block you because you argue in bad faith, attack people and make threats.

I got lots like this where Kal makes low effort FUD and we reply with high effort quality replies. And then he moans he slowly gets ignored because of his bad faith arguments.

I need more information about what happened contractually. Accepting unsolicited proposals is permitted, sole source uncompetitive awards or directed procurements are too. If the procurement process is not being followed you should have an issue with your office of procurement.
If no contract then there is no schedule B of deliverables and thus no ClIN/SLINs . If what you say is true I would ask, How do you cut money to fund the project, what’s the line of accounting and the Color of those funds. How are progress payments made absent a B schedule?
Most of the Cardano/ IOHK/ ADA folk have blocked me from Twitter— but here is a clip from a recent discussion in #Ethiopia

Kal, it sounds like you have a personal issue against IOG because of the procurement process in Ethiopia. This (and your article) doesn't speak at all to the technical competence of the Cardano blockchain so can't be the basis for calling it a "scam".
This is lazy. It would seem your gripe is fundamentally with Cardano being overly ambitious? You begin by outlining what you like about Cardano, i.e. - Proposed initiatives with the ministry of technology, education and finance. You then proceed to make statements that proffer
Dude seems bitter he got squeezed out of his own deal with the government for DID. Also why the hell would anyone want to use Microsoft's solutions?
You work for Microsoft then?
That's what I got out of the video
It seems pretty much like a premined, centralised token with POS that claims to be world computer first (not money), digital oil later and ultrasound money finally... It's all very familiar
hello, I understand that your organization replaced Cardano as the digital ID provider for Ethiopia. Can you please explain your opinions about Cardano? Was there something wrong, or did the government decide that your organization could do it without Cardano?
is implementing MOSIP, an open-source ID mgmt system, and as such only worked with MoE’s Dermalog implemented biometric database system.
So, @KalKassa, it’d be difficult to say we replaced Cardano, as they’re working with MoE with Student Info Mgmt Systm and we aren’t
Thank you for your response,
I’ve gone ahead and asked the MoE for their comments as well —
@DrGetahun and @EthzemaLeader
Hi @EthzemaLeader
I understand you’re responsible for the Student Info Mgmt Systm project at your Ministry of Education.
Would like to learn more on how you chose @Cardano (the Procurement Process). Also, any progress report I can reference after these 4 years (Deliverables).
Sections 2 and 3 are cited and specific to @Cardano in #Ethiopia 🇪🇹
@coryklippsten thank you for sharing this important story
@iohk_charles please sue me for defamation/ etc. if you think I’ve made any false statements below
kalkassa.medium.com/shitcoin-milli…
So no deliverables is your issue and it seems as if Ethiopia was used as a marketing tactic to promote Cardano? Why wasn’t Cardano used for IDs?
Not true—
Proof of work is the real breakthrough. Period.
Proof of stake recycles our existing fiat monetary system. But brands it as a this or that before going through a boom and bust…
But yes — @jimmysong and @rogerkver had the debate years ago… on a boat 🛥
You’re doing a great job Ben —
Expect for the shitcoinery. That’s where we draw the line. It’s not personal, it’s principle.
That my principle. Build a Twitter presence, then I’ll respond. Otherwise I’d be responding without a filter, and my time is a terrible thing to waste.
Only the people decide 🤷🏽♂️ not you, or Impervious, Microsoft, or all those corporations you love. The people of Africa are competent enough to build their own dApps on Cardano or another gen3 blockchain. There is a lot of talented ppl in that continent.
I just thought of transactions on a Cardano Node and now I’m hysterically laughing
