Quit the corporate world to become a full-time maker. Hosts an amazing podcast and talks openly about her challenges and failures. A role model for all of us.
Just had a delightful chat with @saranosocks about marketing, @helpingcreative , life and #podcastops. Thanks Sara!
That's a really beautiful journey, Sara! You seem to have tapped deep into your creative side and it reflects on how far you've come! š
Really looking forward to @saranosocks ās work here.
āIdentityā is something that Iāve struggled with too. It took me 3-4 months to stop thinking of myself as āFormer Software Engineer at ___ā.
Canāt wait to go through the ups and downs with these folks!
Sarah! This is so great, I canāt wait to dig in to the resources. Thank you so much for creating it.
It shows a lot of courage that you chose this path where not everything can be planned, when youāve always been a planner.
How did you set up this bit of structure that helps you get in the right flow?
I had no idea this was the journey you're on, Sara! Thanks for sharing, encouraging, and empowering others.
Looking forward to hearing more of your story and seeing where this journey takes you. Keep going.
Never give up. The secret to success is not luck, but perseverance.
How brave of you to share your honest and vulnerable thoughts! And to want to help others, itās so needed and youāre an absolute angel for what you do!ā¤ļø keep going and know that the reward is closer than it may seem!
Iāve had countless days like thisā¬ļø
I think maybe this isnāt for me, maybe I should just go back, it would be easier.
Then I remember how truly unhappy I was, how far I have come, the life I am building, the sense of fulfillment I have...
I will succeed, it just takes time.
I never stop to think how much I have accomplished in the 15 months since leaving corporate. After chatting with two good friends this week they pointed out how far I have come.
A lot can happen in a year.
Such a vague statement, so letās put some context to it in a š§µš

Itās easy to get overwhelmed with what others are doing.
Celebrate their success and continue on your path.
Community has been key in my journey.
I fought hard for months against community thinking I could make this journey on my own. After 8 months of floundering and the lowest of lows, community has been the one thing to help me move forward.
Surround yourself with support.
It's been 15 months since I quit my corporate job to become a paid creative.
I haven't made it, but I show up, everyday. It's hard, it's lonely & the most rewarding work I have ever done.
I want to help others get there faster with tools for success. More to come š
Creatives / freelancers / indies, I *love* what @saranosocks is up toš
Check out her 'stuff' via her twitter feed + the links in her bio š
This is such a common theme for creators. I feel the same way. It's overwhelming sometimes the desire to want to help others up the ladder.
Looking forward to what you come up with here.
Thanks to @saranosocks for introducing me to Ikigai. Hereās a delightful video about it. #tryikigai @TimTamashiro

Really love this: āHelping Creatives follow their story, not a career path.ā
Right!? Iām looking forward to helping you on your journey for that as I pursue the same
for sharing your awesome journey, tips and suggestions š§” as creators! I am glad to have featured your work in the guide. Thank you so much š
Rest is essential. Iāve learned that being āfreshā or rested is more effective than being persistent when it comes to mental work. I can do better work in less time with rest, so I make time for it. I no longer work tired unless Iām in a crunch.
1 yr ago today I quit a 20 yr career to follow my creativity.
No amount of planning prepared me for the journey I started. An emotional roller coaster like no other. Lots of learning, lots of failure.
Excited to openly share my journey in 2021
