Another game changer announced by UGC

As per the latest amendment made by UGC, degrees which have been obtained through ODL Mode and Online mode will be equivalent to those obtained through the conventional mode. Candidates can read below for the official statement issued by UGC.

As per the notice dated September 8, 2022, the commission would now be recognising degrees obtained by students through open distance learning, ODL mode and Online mode. These degrees, for UG and PG courses will now be considered to be at par with those degrees which were obtained through the conventional mode of higher education or physical mode.

“Degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level in conformity with UGC notification on Specification of Degrees, 2014 and, post graduate diplomas awarded through Open and Distance learning mode and /or Online mode by Higher Educational Institutions, recognised by the Commission under these regulations, shall be treated as equivalent to the corresponding awards of the Degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level and post graduate diplomas offered through conventional mode”, states the official notification issued by the commission.
