Wrapping up a great first day of @kadlac's Approachable Design course.
Today's highlight was unlocking my aesthetic taste, which turned out to be a surprisingly empowering experience.

What a fun weekend with @kadlac's super fun and informative Approachable Design course. Been playing with images and colours - something I can spend a lot of time getting lost in. So happy to share the space with so many of the SYP crew! Can you spot a theme π¦

Just want to say that @kadlac is a genius - these look simple but the way he showed me how he did this opened up a new way of seeing things AND has given me a clearer way of seeing how these two brands fit together.
Helping him build a cool offering around this too πππ

I suck at design.
But love learning it.
And recognize its importance.
So I'm thrilled to take @kadlac "Approachable Design" workshop.
I'm excited to:
- Land on a color palette
- Have clear typography principles
- Learn how design elements interact

4/ Thanks to @kadlac's help with Approachable Design, I was empowered during a recent photo shoot. Here is one pseudonymous shot for my new website.

We made Personal Taste Boards on the first day of @kadlac's Approachable Design course.
Not by looking at finished designs on Pinterest, but instead going inside and unlocking our personal esthetics.
Here's mine.
So much fun and much cheaper than therapy.

This past weekend I took @kadlac's Approachable Design class. I highly recommend going through it. He & his team make the whole thing a joy for non-designers. Great class collaboration too. Someone said my design board was both "playful and serious". That was music to my ears.
Saturday morning picking the best design brain..!! Thank you @kadlac.. A ton of learning and now i am starting to look at everything differently

What's 1 choice you can make to eliminate 10 in the future?
Learn Design.
I came away from day 1 of @kadlac's Approachable Design with personalized themes, color palettes, and an unplanned therapy session (thanks @roxinekee_).
Nate, thanks for breaking it down Barney style!

In the last few weeks, @kadlac's sent me two 7+ minute Loom videos to help me improve the design on a new site I'm launching.
The dude knows his stuff.
If you want to create a visual brand that reflects your personality, his new workshop looks dynamite.
Working with @kadlac feels like getting to "go back to art school" every day. In my brain, Approachable Design is blending "artschool" into "art's cool," for everyone, every day of the week. π I love this. so. much. Can't wait for this weekend's AD2 liftoff. #approachabledesign
Boy are you in for a treat.
"Come for the design, stay for the existential"
Day 4 of @kadlac's 80/20 design challenge.
Today's exercise was about selecting colours other than black and white.
Which do you like best? π

Thanks so much! Shout out to @kadlac and his course helping me find my personal design taste! I made this after that and itβs worked so well!
What does it take to create a unique personal brand identity?
Introspection, in the company of others, with a great guide.
Hereβs what I learned in Day One of Nate Kadlacβs Approachable Design, and the visual design board that emerged from my work.
#ship30for30 | Day 2

Take @kadlac's Approachable Design course and watch as he breaks design down into components you can understand and use.
You won't regret it.
Continuing to implement my design system (artifact from @kadlac's Approachable Design workshop) in my personal website.
13/10 πΆ Would recommend to anyone who wants to learn design and their personal style.β¨
You can check out my work in progress here: chaseignited.com/design-system/

Wouldβve loved to redo the workshop, but unfortunately wonβt be able to this weekend!
Definitely recommended to everyone who is a non-designer and wants to cultivate their taste and learn how to design.
I went from my time with @kadlac and the #approachabledesign crew into a writing session and this is what emerged. Iβm happy to say that, while this might not be perfect Ship30 material, I loved making it and will make more as I can.

.@kadlac running a killer session on thumbnails for non-designers in Minimum Viable Video right now.
Heβs making thumbnails of students and doing it LIVE π€―

I am enjoying fiddling with my website again after @kadlac's fantastic design workshop.
I feel like I have some decent first principles that I can play with.

Nate Kadlac loves teaching design to the creatively curious.
His 2-day workshop in May is geared to do just that π
@kadlac spent 16 years working as a brand + product designer for early-stage startups and Fortune 500 companies alike.
He loves to build and help others build.
π¨ This is the best money you'll ever spend on yourself (except maybe his @approachdesign workshop!).
@kadlac is an incredible educator on design for non-designers.
You owe it to your future self to get in on this course! β¨
The amount of Value that @kadlac has inside of the 80/20 design course is insane!
Funny, helpful & concise!
Delivery format in Email + loom is killer.
College would charge you $200,000 and not provide as much clear design guidance. still gonna hire designer OFC

After the list is done, my reward is working on whatever I want for the rest of the day. You know, the fun stuff that gives me energy.
This week one of my fun things is the 80/20 Design Course from @kadlac. Itβs a 20 day course for non-designers that takes 20 mins per day.
(3/6)
I think I might write a blog post about the Delphi Zero universe + how it's being built.
incl reference to Nate's inside out method + how it informs the visuals for the essay.
Here are a couple of new ones π
