Grateful to announce that I'm officially a Terra.do Fellow! Over 12 weeks this fall, I participated in their Climate Change: Learning for Action boot camp, diving deep into climate science, climate economics, and the host of adaptation and mitigation solutions we have available. My biggest takeaway from the course is that, despite the terrifying impacts of climate change happening today, there are SO MANY driven and brilliant folks working in this space who care about solving this problem. Terra reminded me that I'm not alone in wanting to take this problem on, energized me to continue to learn about solutions, and inspired me to make changes in my personal and professional life.
I have spent the last 3 months doing Terra.do's bootcamp about Climate change to better understand the current state of the climate crisis, solutions and sectors, and orient my job search accordingly.
It has been a mix of:
😲 discoveries: I realized I am still interested in electrification but also... nature based solutions, regenerative agriculture, 15-minutes cities, eco-system based adaptation and so many others hopeful solutions!
🌏 projects with people all around the world: I had weekly labs with people from India, Europe, US, and even Philippines. I can confirm everyone is impacted by climate change!
👩💻 hundreds of hours of lectures and going through tons of materials
👥 new friendships and a sense of community with so many talents looking to work in climate and helping each other!
🤩 hope: now I can imagine what 2040 could be if we tackled the climate crisis: more trees, less noise from cars, less pollution, more spaces to walk or bike, more community, more equity, more time to do what we like. I am amazed and inspired by the Doughnut economy and absolutely want to support it. Instead of scaring people, we should inspire them!
🍄 surprises: I learned about the power of seaweed and fungi to capture carbon or help grow trees faster
🕵♀️ introspection, and the assignments did a very good job at guiding me
💪 a lot of ideas on how to have an impact, at each level, background or interest. You don't need to be in a climate company to have an impact, you can also drive change in your organization and lead by example.
and of course yes, also a lot of anger 👿 but our awesome group instructor Nikyta Palmisani gave us tools to cope with that as well!
If you have time (it takes at least 10-15 hours a week), I would highly recommend it. Obviously this is just a start and I got hundreds of resources to explore and books to read, but I feel much more equipped now!

Always fun to meet others in the Terra.do network. Since I took my Learning For Action course nearly 3 years ago, the community has exploded in size and there are always new people to meet and opportunities to learn from others on this path to work on climate.
If your 2024 New Year's Resolution is to work in the climate space, Terra.do is a great place to start!

In all my years of education and working in the personal development industry, I have not seen nor experienced the level of quality and highly engaging content as what is offered in the Terra.do LFA course. The curators of this program have found relevant, timely, and deep source material, yet the tone is friendly, unassuming, and hopeful.
My climate journey officially started just over a year ago, when I joined Terra.do’s ‘Learn for Action’ program. This program didn’t just teach me about climate, it was the start of a transformative journey that exposed me to new ways of thinking. The community is incredible - non judgmental, collaborative and genuinely excited about each other’s growth. If you're serious about making a meaningful impact in the world of climate, I cannot recommend Terra.do enough.
I was unsure about my next step. The only piece of clarity was around the intent to work on a role with high impact, specifically around climate & sustainability, considering my passion for that space over many years! A 3-month course with Terra.do on climate change amplified that journey and led me to take a plunge into entrepreneurship.
Having completed this training in early 2023, it completely transformed my life. Not only did it enable me to kickstart my journey with two innovative startups, The PI (Planetary Intelligence) and Climate Team, but it also helped me establish a comprehensive global network within the climate industry. I now find purpose in my daily pursuits and couldn't be happier.
Today marks the celebration of my graduation from LFA at Terra.do, unquestionably a life changing and the greatest decision I made in 2023!
Ever since I started working in the Climate Space, I always wanted to learn about Climate Change in a structured and systematic way. I am happy to have found an interesting entry point through Terra.do's 12 week long climate bootcamp and fellowship
