I would be disappointed. As I understand it, a delay in Vasil will delay hundreds of dapps, Djed and indicate there are issues that are not being shared. I hope you're wrong but suspect you're probably not.
I've been saying for 2 weeks now that Vasil will most likely ship mid-September. This is not a knock at Cardano, but just reality. They are so far behind on the cli & documentation it's embarrassing. But, this is a MASSIVE upgrade...delays were inevitable
ok I understand the disappointment, I think as all projects IOHK and CH have sold false promises.
But IMO the delays are happening right because they are not building with a "break fast, move things" approach, but they are really trying to change the game. Vasil is a big update.
Looks like the Vasil hardfork will see another delay. But this comes with the benefit of having less potential problems when we actually get it on mainnet. The #CardanoCommunity keeps testing before deploying! 💪 #SafetyFirst
Those making fun of eth with their delays on their merger should humble themselves because cardano is going through multiple vasil hardfork related delays. Which I’m not surprised about
Yeah the Vasil Hardfork is imminent. Just a small 30 to 60 day delay. Could be as soon as end of this month or as late as end of August. Still Summer. Here are the details

testing is very important and only tests with high quality can discover hidden errors. luckily huskell offers a good way for writing tests with high qualities (not like solidity). 👍
Yes…August 10th is just fine…the date doesn’t matter…in five years no one will care…what matters is that it gets done around the target date and that it gets done right the first time!
Whenever. So long as its been tested redundantly first, and had time to marinate on testnet until it is truly ready.
Of course we'd be happy! Sure, it would be somewhat of a letdown to have another pushback but WHO EVEN CARES. It would be a few weeks difference not a year lol

Makes no difference to me honestly. The chain is perfectly functional for my purposes right now. I’m good to wait as long as is needed for them to be confident in its release. 🫡
No impartial, informed person will remember the month, but rather the long term impact, positive or negative.
I’m Ok if the Vasil hard fork doesn’t happen until August or later. I just want it done right.

Hi all, Has anyone been able to test Vasil hardfork experience on Dapps on testnet yet? What is your experience so far? In terms of mainnet launch, is it still on track for hardfork mainnet late July? I keep hearing people on Twitter saying it might be August. Not sure if I miss anything here.

Tough to build up a communities momentum in a deep bear market. Some dapp builders have reported as much as a 10x increase inthrouput for their individual dapps, but that won’t be the experience network wide, it will vary.
The most recent Cardano 360 made it sound like it could push into August; mostly because there was a bug or two that they had to brush away along with a few components IOG still had to ship and then would still need to give exchanges 4 weeks to upgrade.
For anybody reading this, don’t let your anxiety get the better of you. Vasil is shipping, and it is shipping this summer. +/- a few weeks from the original projected date is insignificant on the grand scheme of things.

Why is the date so ignored? Shouldn’t the community have an exact date like there was for Alonzo? It’s too close to the launch to not have a date!
IOG or the foundation hasn't given any revised dates. Stop spreading FUD.

As a developer myself, I know how it is when your customers force you to release today, but You push back because this is right thing to do and ONLY developers understand that. For me all those delays make me smile, because I feel that I'm taken care of. :)

Given the challenging backdrop for other projects in 2022/ETH roadmap progress, I think most would be sanguine about Vasil slipping to August. Good thread highlighting issues and sensible expectations.
