I had an exciting and insightful Friday evening last week, As I had the opportunity to attend the GrowthSchool ↗ Marketing mixer. And I met a lot of like-minded folks and had a good time. 🤝

Since I couldn't express my thoughts at the time of pitching, I'd like to share my thoughts on how one should go about their GTM strategy. 👇

When Aadil Bandukwala said, "Don't do things which scale," it reminded me of a YCombinator video that explained how important it is to only focus on acquiring your first 100 consumers rather than thinking about scaling in the initial stages. 💡

In any given business, there is always demand. But the differentiating factor between a good company and an average company is the quality of supply, so as a part of my GTM strategy, I would focus first on acquiring a good quality supply. (In this case, the mentors for the Upskilling EdTech startup from the given task are the supply side). 📈

And then define my ideal consumer(demand) with metrics that fit the user persona for my business and then go about achieving those 100 consumers via various marketing channels, which turn out to be the stories of my business to showcase and acquire new consumers. 📋

In short, the 100 good-quality consumers will help you build momentum and propel you for further growth, provided you have consistent and good quality service(supply) as a company. 🧐

Absolutely in love with what the team at GrowthSchool is building. The interaction session by the three leaders of the game, Aadil Bandukwala, Deepan Siddhu & Vaibhav Sisinty ↗️, was amazing. 💥

Their community is phenomenal. Kudos to Omprakash Asnani ↗️ and Shrey Singh 👏

I also had a great time interacting with Zaid Khan, Nagabhushana, Aishvaryaa and Simran.

I would also like to thank Vivian Williams for always enabling me to learn new things. Despite the fact that I am a designer, I still have great insights and have worked and experienced first-hand all aspects of a startup, be it Marketing/GTM, Managing the team, Design, and Creatives. ✍

This Saturday, I did something different.

Instead of being at my work desk, I attended a Marketing Mixer organized by none other than Vaibhav Sisinty ↗️ on New Age Marketing.

And I have to say, after following Vaibhav Sisinty ↗️ and Deepan Siddhu for quite some time now as people I am inspired by, I was quite excited to meet them in person. The experience was truly phenomenal!

A power packed session of 3 leaders Aadil Bandukwala, Deepan Siddhu and Vaibhav Sisinty had to have lots of learnings.

As an aspiring marketer, I was truly able to grasp a lot.
Be it Vaibhav’s take on the current trends, AI, brand building and creating a brand that differentiates itself from the others by being aspirational to people.

Or Aadil’s stance on the B2B ecosystem, the importance of Value Delivery, and how to build impactful relationships in business (not telling anyone your secret recipe)
What stood out to me was the “Doing things that Don’t scale” and Aadil’s approach to it.

Or Deepan’s insights on Performance Marketing and SEO, Quality of visitors, ICP, ARR and how marketing (definitely that can’t be done without the right tools) somehow, in the long run, translates to beyond these tools. The non-branded keyword attribution was truly an eye opener.

This session was followed by an impromptu marketing competition where me and my team (folks in the industry I had the pleasure of meeting that day itself) brainstormed for not more than 15-20 minutes, presented a Case across and WON amongst a room full of Founders, Heads of Marketing and Sales. It was truly a very fulfilling moment for me.

I hadn’t been on stage for quite some time and ngl was nervous but kudos to Kenneth Tenny for being my partner in crime, motivating me for presenting and pulling this off! It was fun doing this together.

Also had the pleasure of meeting - Jayanth Ramesh Shrey Singh Zaid Khan - Personal Branding Coach Akshay Jain and so many more ppl. Sorry if I missed anyone.
