Hey Reuben, I hope you are well mate.
Wanted to give you an update on the job at the AFL. I had an interview Tuesday and got a call today with the job offer! Just want to thank you again for the initial call we had and providing your thoughts and recommendations on my situation, it certainly helped in getting me to this point.

Hi Reuben,
Just wanted to let you know that I was successful in securing the internship at Essendon which is very exciting.
Thank-you so much again for your help last week, it was perfect timing and definitely helped me out with the interview.
Will definitely be passing on your good work to my mates that are looking for work in the sports industry. I hope SportsGrad continues to succeed because it is a great concept and is obviously helping a lot of people like myself out in terms of realising their dreams.

Honestly, it's been one of the best decisions I've made. SportsGrad is one such platform where I got to learn a lot about the Sporting community and how Networking can lay the foundation to my future. Given the additional help of how to tailor your resume and getting tips on how to use my full potential is something that is unique about what SportsGrad has to offer. The Membership has its perks and would definitely recommend this to any sport professional or student who is out there looking for an entry into the sporting industry.

I feel more confident applying for positions within the sports industry since becoming a SportsGrad member and talking to Reuben about my career goals, how to approach a particular role I intend on applying for and utilizing the resources available to SportsGrad members when applying for positions within the sports industry.
SportsGrad is a fantastic platform for young sports industry professionals to collaborate in a likeminded community. It is insightful to learn from Reuben and the resources he has created and experiences he has gained whilst working within the sports industry.
SportsGrad offers a unique platform to engage with University Students and sports industry professionals and I have not found a similar type of product targeting this demographic in Australia.

SportsGrad has taught me so much about how to effectively structure my job applications and target exactly what they’re looking for. I feel significantly more confident now when applying for positions and know I’m able to highlight my most important qualities suited to each individual role. This gives me enhanced motivation when applying for roles, and excites me to show myself off, rather than dreading the application process.

Reuben is very accessible to members and it provides you a far greater opportunity to build a relationship with him instead of listening to a voice on Spotify. This opens the door for personalised conversations about your career and potential for recommendations. The opportunity to also network with other members is fantastic and you have the chance to learn so much which can support in upskilling e.g. job applications, LinkedIn, local sport ideas

Reuben has created a brilliant platform for sports-industry professionals to network and gain early access to available jobs in the industry. The standard of content in the member's area can greatly improve your resume and cover letter, your ability to interpret the role you're aiming for and your networking skills, as well as giving you an insight into people with interesting roles in sport. Entering the sports industry is difficult, so having SportsGrad as a support network gives you an enormous confidence boost.

When I enrolled into uni as a commerce student, I always thought that the sports business industry would be one that would be advertised and encouraged by the university. I was shocked to find that there was hardly any information out there by the university about how to get involved into the business side of sport.
When I found the opportunity to become a SportsGrad member, it provided me a more tailored experience to anything that uni could offer. To have a mentor to provide advice in your next career moves is invaluable.
I feel like I have a headstart in forging a future career in the sports industry, from the step-by-step guides in the webinars to interacting with other like-minded individuals.

The sportsgrad platform helped me a lot to fine tune my resume and focus on the little things that mattered that most people ignored. It's a passionate team that actually wants to help out students and who has been in the same shoes.

SportsGrad podcast and webinars helped me decide what I want to do after year 12 and I ended up enrolling in a course of Diploma in Sport and Diploma in Business with Cricket Australia and I am absolutely loving it so far so thank you for creating the Podcast and all the hard work that goes into the webinars!!!

You've got nothing to lose, and everything to gain. The guys from SportsGrad know what they are talking about and have already built such a supportive community. You are bound to gain some knowledge that will help you no matter the stage of your career you are in.
SportsGrad Members helped me to refine my resume and gave me confidence for interviews. The discounted ticket for the Sports Tech World Series Conference also helped open up a conversation within my network which then led me to being offered this role.

It has been very insightful learning from Reuben's personal experiences, the stories he has to share on the podcasts and webinar's are helpful. Rueben's tailored zoom session assisted me in finding the last piece of the puzzle I was missing. Rueben was even kind enough to give me some last minute tips, a day before my job interview. I was successful in securing the job and do believe that the sportsgrad resources had a key role to play in my successful journey of job seeking.

As students, sometimes we might not know where nor what to start. Credit to the SportsGrad team who created this amazing community where young professionals are able to meet and pick the more experienced professionals' brain.

I have learnt so much about how to improve my employability in the short time spent within the SportsGrad program. Reuben is incredibly hands on and truly cares about every single one of his students. For the first time in my life I feel as if I am ready to graduate University and tackle the challenges of finding my first job within sport.

The way it is structured is way better than enrolling in a degree, for actually learning how to get ready to work in any industry.
SportsGrad has a thriving upskilling model which provides a rational way to think and act. Future students must invest time and money to get all the tools in getting the first role.

I joined as a SportsGrad member after graduating from my degree and I still apply many of the lessons and information I have taken from being a member in my early sport admin career.
SportsGrad gave me the resources to understand what relevance my skills and attributes have to a specific area of sport and enabled me to learn how to best go about searching for the right roles and understand what a job description was really asking for. It also helped me develop my LinkedIn networking skills to connect with the right people who may take my career further in the future.

I feel very fortunate that Reuben identified a gap in the market and created a platform that provides graduates such as myself with the best possible foundation to help prepare for a successful career in the sporting industry.

When I realized that my dream job would definitely be in the sports industry I didn’t know where to start. Or if the actions I was taking by my own were the right ones. It was until I attended to a Sports Tech Conference meeting that I met SportsGrad and I felt like it was the perfect solution for all my problems and doubts. And it was indeed, still is. Thanks to the sports grad members I’ve been able to work in all the aspects I didn’t even consider before to position myself as a top candidate for a job, I’ve talk to very important people and I've gotten lots of positive responses and advice from them. Things that before I wouldn’t be confident enough to do or wouldn’t know how to make them in the best way. And right now I’m just starting but I’m already pretty confident that with all their help and useful resources I’m gonna find the job that I’ll be happy and proud to talk about to future SportsGrad community members.

I had trouble networking and creating a structure for my job applications. I was too timid and afraid to follow-up on applications. The pandemic increased my self-doubt ten folds and I did not know how to evolve from being unemployed, but reading up inspirational stories from Sportsgrad members and working smart on my applications helped me gain that confidence. Being a member and looking at the success stories inspired me to do more. I reached out to more people, more importantly I reached out to the correct people. Sportsgrad tools helped me be confident when I eventually did get a few interviews.

I'm still an undergraduate at Deakin, and having had my first year of university completely online was quite unsettling for me. Prior to commencing uni, I planned to connect and network as much as I could. Networking was minimal as lockdowns dominated Melbourne in 2020, and now being overseas, it isn't ideal. SportsGrad has bridged this physical gap between me and the Melbourne Sporting community. Through the systematic analyses presented through the webinar & podcast content, Reuben is able to instil confidence in me and the community. The consistent email check-ups have indeed helped me stay motivated in trying to pursue job openings.
I've only been a part of this community for a little over a month, however the two SportsGrad webinars regarding improving performance in job interviews as well as enhancing your resumé have helped me land a job within the sports coaching sector – where I will be starting off teaching primary school kids basic swimming skills as a part time job (in Hong Kong). I intend to learn and grow from this community in the years to come, and hope to connect face-to-face soon.

Being a member of SportsGrad feels empowering as I’m amid people that have had or are having similar experiences navigating the industry. Additionally, learning from people who have had success in the industry gives confidence in the advice received, knowing that these successes can be replicated in my own unique journey.
Upon initially viewing the website, I was intrigued and glad to have come across a website where those within the sport industry could collaborate, meet, learn and share experiences. I was especially interested as I had thought the industry needed something similar to SportsGrad. Despite not having completely got around to viewing all webinars, podcasts and resources on offer, SportsGrad has provided me with valuable tips and tricks. Specifically around Résumé construction and how to make yourself stand out amongst others who are competing for jobs.

Breaking into the sports industry can be difficult if you don’t have the right connections, the team at SportsGrad is great at helping myself and others learn the ins and outs whilst offering personalised help for us to reach our full potential in the sporting industry over multiple platforms like webinars, podcasts, handbooks and networking opportunities.

As soon as I joined the membership, went through the introductory course modules, and attended the cold email/messaging workshop, I figured what I had been doing wrong and how I can start doing things the right way. The moment I started following the SportsGrad method, I successfully started networking with all my connections on LinkedIn and received my very first Internship offer as well. Being a member makes me feel proud, motivated and more confident as I don't hesitate now before cold messaging anyone or starting a conversation with someone random from my connections list. I now feel that after becoming a SportsGrad member, I can help others as well with their applications as now I know what are the do's and don'ts of job hunt in the sports industry.
