Thanks to @elonmusk and @chrismanfrank for @synthesischool. We signed up our older one a few weeks ago and the experience is out of this world. First time our son is looking forward to his lessons (so am I :-).
Excellent write-up by @APompliano on one of our latest co-investments.
@synthesischool is changing education for children.

Just had an incredibly inspiring conversation with @anafabrega11 about the magic that's happening at Synthesis School (branched by Josh Dahn & @chrismanfrank from Elon Musk's Ad Astra lab school at SpaceX).
Mind blowing to see how far education has evolved.
Looking through the @PlausibleHQ stats for @shoutoutso_ embeds and realized we got a huge traffic spike from @synthesischool when they got some high-profile mentions last week.🙌
Our platform didn't even feel it which is why I had no idea.

Talked to @ImSamThompson this week about my dream of building an online K-12 school some day - that type of conversation is what comes to mind when @JamesonCamp says we should expand our minds of what’s possible.
Inspired by @synthesischool along with a few others
Super impressive self-awareness and leadership for 10 year olds. 👏🏻 Will be following along with @synthesischool - my kids are too young now, but this is definitely the direction we’re directing their education.
Thanks to @APompliano for the tip in his newsletter!
What are forms of education and learning that will shape the future?
The most innovative I know of are cohort-based courses (and the creator economy), new schools like @synthesischool as well as the professional learner idea promoted by e.g. @rroudt.
What else is relevant?
Last evening someone commented “Do you if synthesis is actually real?”. Me - “why do you ask?” . Him “I just see a screen there that I don’t get but I have never seen my kid get more excited” @chrismanfrank definitely magic in there!
Synthesis is amazing. I draw inspiration from their style into my own work teaching kids to code.
Hi, I was sold on Synthesis from the first time I learned about it. My kid is turning 2 in 4 days. I’d really like to see the expansion of courses for younger ages. My kid will begin here as soon as he’s accepted in.
I think of @synthesischool as being similar in the Montessori approach when it comes to likely end results: accelerated learning. In both, Kids develop “mental frameworks” which can greatly assist In their value pursuit.
Stoked to have my daughter enrolled in a new cohort @synthesischool! The future of education is open to all synthesis.is/?grsf=as3n1x Thanks for the leadership @elonmusk #unschooling
PROBLEM-SOLVING
Real-world problems are rarely linear with defined inputs and outputs.
@synthesischool virtual missions are complex, multi-disciplinary, and dynamic. A winning approach one time won't necessarily work every time.
RESOURCEFULNESS
Learning ≠ Listening or reading just in case you one day get asked a question
@synthesischool students learn mental models that can apply across many tricky predicaments and seek the data they need to make decisions.
COLLABORATION
Teamwork ≠ Divvying up work, researching independently, and then one person pulling it together to match strict guidelines
@synthesischool teams tackle complex problems without clear solutions, compete against other teams, and reflect on their roles in the group.
ENGAGEMENT
Listening and then repeating what you've heard is not participation.
@synthesischool aims to hook students with complexity and meaningful experiences and give them space to debrief and synthesize (wink) what they've learned.

If you haven't heard of @synthesischool yet... You need to check this out.
Every once in a while you come across a company that makes you wish you started it. It doesn't happen often... Even more impressive in this case are the people behind it @synthesischool

What else?
Between @synthesischool and video games gen alpha and young Z should be better decision makers than most adults
I'm just checking this school out! So cool! A few years until my son is old enough...but when he is! @synthesischool 🙌
I am extremely bullish on companies like @LambdaSchool and @synthesischool paving the way forward. The problem right now is misaligned incentive structures in the current system.
Agree, what options like @synthesischool or @withprimer offer looks different than what most parents think when hearing homeschool
Interaction & challenges result in enthusiasm & a love of solving hard problems
It’s not school @ home/boxed curriculum
It fosters deep learning
How were you able to invest? I am super interested in investing myself. My kid is a Syntesis student and he LOVES it.
So excited about what @synthesischool is doing and the future of education, the biggest lever on society is educating the young. I started getting motivated to learn efficiently in college, just think about what happens when you add 15 extra years to the compounding!
Awesome to get @APompliano 's letter this morning and read about @synthesischool and his investment (unfortunately, I am not an investor), been a huge fan from their AstraNova Conundrums and tried to get my kid in (too early) last year. Congrats @anafabrega11 and team!
This is the most exciting news I could possibly get today as the father of a recently unschooled daughter. I was digging for info on Ad Astra was hoping such plans were in motion! I will sign up today! Grazie @APompliano @synthesischool @elonmusk and team 🙏
This comes at such a great time - when the world is running on herd mentality and not so much critical thinking.
