Nomad bridge allows the transfer of tokens between Avalanche, Ethereum, Evmos, #Milkomeda C1, and Moonbeam. It seems the funds are drained by a hacker. It is not a fault on the #Cardano/Milkomeda side. Users who use Nomad tokens will probably be affected. Let's wait for updates.
WARNING: the Nomad bridge is used to transfer tokens between blockchains. Nomad was used by #Milkomeda and allowed the use of tokenized BTC, USDC, and others. It appears that there has been a hack and funds are drained. The fault did not happen on the #Cardano or Milkomeda side.

My understanding is the only access to USDC/USDT was through Wingriders DEX (madUSDC/USDT). Meaning the USDC/USDT you can access from Cardano was all fed through this Nomad bridge that was just hacked. I don't believe Cardano has a safe stablecoin yet.

The Nomad Bridge is used by many L2 Cardano DEXs. These will affect any user who holds bridged assets.
I find it crazy that this is the main stablecoin on Cardano and I completely agree with you about the education. I had no idea madUSDC was funneled through via Nomad bridge. Luckily I didnt have any but I can understand why some people did trying to stay in the Cardano ecosystem
10/ It turns out that during a routine upgrade, the Nomad team initialized the trusted root to be 0x00. To be clear, using zero values as initialization values is a common practice. Unfortunately, in this case it had a tiny side effect of auto-proving every message
We are aware of the Nomad exploit. Unfortunately, we can't control what happens to other projects. This does not affect the base Milkomeda protocol, but Nomad is one of multiple bridges deployed to Milkomeda so users of Nomad-based assets on Milkomeda & Cardano are affected.
