I'm not a SPO, but when you decide to become an operator, is there some default mailing list or other mass communication protocol you are at least encouraged to sign up with so that you can get important prompts to update your pool?
I know that Cardano is big on decentralization and self-management, but the number of dead and abandoned pools or pools that miss important upgrades is kind of worrisome.
Regarding the poor communication - as a developer, not an SPO; nobody told me testnet was broken, I had to find out for myself and wonder why our transactions weren't working. Nobody has had any idea when the Vasil rollout was coming, until Charles randomly says "go!"
We need the channels of information consolidated. But the most important would be to have a designated individual responsible for announcing when to do XYZ. Not doing this was the reason this whole debacle started.
Thanks yeah I'm on the IOG discord. I guess some developers have time to participate in a million Discord servers - I have way too many and IOG's one just disappears into the mix. I need a changelog, release notes, and official updates, published somewhere I'll actually see them
This! Us, SPOs, have to monitor Telegram, Discord, Github and various Twitter accounts to know what/when to do stuff. We need a single, official communication channel.
